Role purpose

The Security Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily security operations within Frankston Hospital, ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires strong leadership, risk management, and decision-making skills to maintain a secure environment in compliance with hospital policies and Victorian regulations.

Job Specific Responsibilities

· Supervise and coordinate all security staff, security sub-contractors, security administrative officer to ensure effective coverage and incident response.

· Oversee security procedures, access control systems, and surveillance operations.

· Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.

· Investigate security incidents and prepare detailed reports for hospital management.

· Ensure compliance with hospital policies, industry regulations, and Victorian security laws.

· Manage visitor access, ensuring proper identification and adherence to security policies.

· Implement proactive security strategies to mitigate potential threats.

· Conduct inspections of hospital premises to detect and address security risks.

· Lead, motivate, and mentor the security team, fostering a professional and proactive culture.

· Provide regular training on emergency response, conflict resolution, and hospital-specific security protocols.

· Oversee shift rotations to maintain optimal security coverage and address performance issues.

· Support ongoing professional development for security personnel.

· Undertake day to day roster management across all sites, providing efficient and cost-effective solutions along with recommendations for security staffing across the contract

Experience and qualifications

· Certificate II & III in Security Operations mandatory (CPP20218, CPP31318).

· Certificate IV in Security Management (CPP40719) would be advantageous

· Private Security Individual Licence with Security Officer, Crowd Controller, Control Room Operator and Monitoring Centre Operator License Conditions and activities stipulated on the plastic card

· Experience leading a Security team

· Experience in a healthcare environment desirable.

· Qualified in Provide First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (HLTAID011) within one month of commencement of employment, and is to be refreshed every three years for continuous employment (must have ability to obtain one if currently not holding)

· Issued with a Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) Card Employee version
