We are seeking a commercially astute and operationally focused Commercial Manager to support the mobilisation and ongoing management of a newly awarded contract. This role will be engaged in setting up operational and commercial processes, creating user-friendly templates, analysing data for inventory management, and driving financial outcomes. You’ll be a part of commercial team, directly report to Associate Business Partner - who will provide the guidance. You will work closely with site operations, commercial team members, and client, acting as the commercial point of contact for the contract. Promotion and support of Our Safety Culture framework is expected.

This hybrid role offers a balance of office-based work and hands-on site involvement, ensuring visibility across performance, process execution, and client service. 

The Role

Contract Mobilisation & Process Setup 

  • Manage the setup of commercial processes associated with the new contract
  • Work closely with operations to define workflows, controls, and KPIs from day one
  • Ensure alignment with client requirements and internal governance frameworks

Commercial Finance & Period-End Activities

  • Own and execute the period-end process, including revenue recognition, accruals, and reporting, etc
  • Manage client invoicing and reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and resolution of discrepancies
  • Drive forecasting and budgeting for the contract, working with finance and operational teams to deliver accurate, data-driven projections
  • Conduct balance sheet, stock reconciliations and commercial analysis to track performance, identify risks, and drive profitability

Process Setup & Improvement 

  • Engage in design and implement robust stock control & track processes across the contract
  • Create user friendly reconciliation or tracking templates for site to use
  • Analyse stock data to reduce waste, improve turnover, and support margin targets

Stakeholder & Relationship Management 

  • Be the commercial point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with on-site operations teams to align commercial priorities with day-to-day activity
  • Support the Operations Director with insights, reporting, and strategic planning

 

The Person

  • Accounting degree qualified
  • CPA qualified or progressing toward CA/CPA 
  • +3 years experience in a Commercial or similar role with responsibility for P&L, financial controls, and operational performance
  • Proven track record in working with operations and clients, period end and invoicing, commercial analysis and reporting
  • Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and interpreting complex commercial data
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, especially across operations and finance
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, self-driven, and able to work autonomously in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or finance systems (e.g., Oracle, Anaplan) is an advantage
