The Opportunity
The Director, Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships will play a pivotal role in leading the next phase of the Centre’s growth, overseeing the expansion, design, implementation and delivery of programs that service the pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries, while also strengthening the Centre’s operational and strategic foundations.
As the Director, you will provide commercial and strategic leadership to the Centre during a critical period of transformation, and will be responsible for consolidating and reshaping the Centre’s operations to ensure effective administration, sound financial management, and alignment with the University’s strategic priorities. In addition, a key focus of this position will be building a sustainable pipeline of opportunities to grow participation in the Centre across the pharmaceutical sector while achieving the strategic financial and commercial targets.
The Director will also collaborate with government and industry stakeholders to shape and inform world-class educational development and oversee the delivery of short-course training programs. Critical to this position will be the leadership of long-term strategic planning for future course development and market growth, while overseeing ongoing business development activities and engaging with industry and government to identify emerging workforce training needs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A proven track record in managing complex industry partnerships, consistently delivering commercial outcomes and meeting budgetary targets in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated success in building and sustaining strategic relationships across Australia and internationally, including with C-suite executives and government officials.
- Deep expertise in strategic and operational business planning, encompassing financial management, resource allocation, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation within large, complex and evolving organisations.
- Extensive experience leading high-performing and multidisciplinary project teams and driving initiatives from concept to completion using contemporary project management methodologies, while navigating complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to provide expert advice to senior leadership, prioritise competing demands, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with organisational objectives.
