Remuneration: $83,424 - $95,825 pa HEW Level 05 (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

Advance your career as a Senior Animal Technologist at the Monash Animal Research Platform (MARP) and make a meaningful impact.

This position contributes to supporting the Faculty’s research base and provides management and care services for animals of various species through general, technical and medical procedures under the frameworks of established policies.

The Senior Animal Technologist oversees the day-to-day operations of a designated unit, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare across animal production, care, and research activities. The role plays a vital part in supporting research by delivering quality animal care services, coordinating the supply of healthy, high-quality animals, and actively contributing to research projects. Regular liaison with researchers ensures their specific needs are met, fostering collaborative partnerships and efficient service delivery.

We are seeking someone with a Diploma of Applied Science (Animal Technology) or progress towards completion, along with relevant experience in a laboratory animal facility or an equivalent combination of knowledge, training, and experience in an animal care environment. A genuine passion for working with animals, coupled with a collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and an engaging team-oriented work ethic, are essential qualities for this role.
