The Opportunity
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for research administration and contract management? Monash University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Officer, Grants and Contracts to play a pivotal role in supporting world-class research through expert post-award services.
In this influential role, you will:
- Lead with Expertise: Be the go-to specialist in post-award research administration, offering high-level advice and mentoring to team members.
- Drive Contract Excellence: Evaluate, draft, and review complex legal documents, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with University policies and funder guidelines.
- Solve Complex Challenges: Act as a key escalation point for intricate post-award matters, providing sound judgment and strategic insights.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to streamline processes, improve service delivery, and support strategic initiatives.
- Empower Others: Guide and train less experienced staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer focus.

What You’ll Bring:
- Significant experience in research administration, particularly in post-award management or a degree in legal studies or administration with experience in contract evaluation and review.
- Proven ability to manage complex workloads, mentor staff, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced proficiency in business management software and a commitment to operational excellence.
