The Opportunity

As a Library Experience Officer, you are part of the Library’s Frontline Services team, ensuring welcoming and inclusive spaces and services for Monash students, staff, Alumni, and visitors during the day, afternoon, night and weekends. You will provide excellent customer service, supporting access to Library print and online collection, solving and reporting facilities issues, and ensuring that spaces are safe for everyone and well-maintained.  You will work with other Library staff to plan and facilitate events that support student inclusion and engagement; we aspire to delight by exceeding their expectations. 

This role requires the ability to work flexibly on rostered shifts on weekdays between 7:45am to midnight to support the service delivery needs of the Library.  Please see the following document for details. Library Experience Officer FAQ

The role includes:

  • Ensuring the libraries are welcoming and safe spaces
  • Monitoring and responding to reports of building and maintenance faults
  • Providing general direction to Library Experience Assistants, particularly on weekends and evenings
  • Collaborating with other library colleagues, to the design, delivery, and evaluation of user experience programs supporting inclusion and belonging in the Library  
  • Responding to, answering, and referring enquiries from library users
