The Opportunity

We have three exciting opportunities to join the Finance Operations team!

The Stores Purchasing Officer provides a range of professional and high-quality administrative services to support the effective operation of the P2P Stores within the Purchasing Services Team. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for maintaining a high-quality inventory service of goods, including dangerous and temperature sensitive products, which requires a thorough understanding of Occupational Health and Safety standards and the application of these.

As the Stores Purchasing Officer, you will be required to maintain adequate levels of stock to meet demands for staff and students including ordering through suppliers and vendors. The role also provides support services in relation to safety practices and the handling and disposal of hazardous materials, operating within the University's purchasing standards and policies. The position requires the application of thorough knowledge of tax laws, university policies and compliance procedures, while upholding the highest standard of customer service.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Work within a larger team to perform store administrative tasks including delivering of quality purchasing and inventory services, maintaining receipt and purchasing of goods, storage of goods, managing processes, responding to queries, advising on OH&S procedures, policy and process.
  • Provide high levels of customer service in accordance with best practice guidelines, policy and procedure.
  • Undertake the input and analysis of data regarding usage trends and patterns, including generating reports to inform planning and purchasing decision-making as directed.
  • Provide sound and timely advice, guidance and support to other staff, clients and stakeholders ensuring activities are followed in accordance with OH&S rules and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders to support and facilitate service delivery
