The Opportunity

Monash Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences is a global leader in education and research, transforming healthcare and improving lives. We are seeking a Senior Business and Data Specialist to drive data-driven decision-making and strategic insights within our faculty.

In this pivotal role, you will lead student load planning, admissions analysis, revenue forecasting, and accreditation reporting. Your expertise in data analysis and scenario modelling will inform policy decisions, enhance business processes, and support major strategic initiatives. You will design and implement a data quality assurance framework, ensuring accuracy and reliability in key datasets.

Collaborating closely with senior management and stakeholders, you will translate complex data into actionable insights, develop advanced forecasting models, and contribute to continuous improvement in operational processes. Your work will directly influence faculty-wide planning and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the subject matter expert on student load, revenue, admissions data, and policy environments
  • Lead and manage the student load planning cycle, including forecasting and admissions quota management
  • Develop and implement a data quality assurance framework to enhance data accuracy and integrity
  • Deliver complex analyses and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making
  • Provide expert advice to senior stakeholders on data analysis, reporting tools, and forecasting models
  • Contribute to Faculty and University strategic initiatives through applied research and policy analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement and support major strategic projects aligned with faculty goals

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Strong capability with ERP platforms, student planning systems, and data forecasting tools
  • Proven experience in data extraction, integration, and transformation from diverse corporate systems
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into meaningful insights and create compelling visualisations
  • Extensive experience managing end-to-end projects within complex organisational settings
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence at senior levels
  • Strong ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Knowledge of higher education or similar organisational dynamics
