The Opportunity

The Advancement team has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and strategic fundraising professional to step into the role of Senior Development Manager – HASS. In this key position, you will lead efforts to secure major and principal gifts of $100k - $1m, while building deep, productive relationships across the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences faculties. This is your chance to help shape the next chapter of Monash’s philanthropic impact from within our dynamic university community.

This position will be responsible for developing and executing a high-impact fundraising strategy aligned with university and faculty goals, managing a portfolio of 60–100 prospects with a focus on securing major gifts. You’ll lead efforts to strengthen stakeholder engagement, provide expert guidance to faculty executives, and oversee key fundraising projects that inform strategic decision-making and business growth. You’ll also provide strategic leadership and mentoring to the Development Manager – HASS, while working closely with Deans, senior faculty members, alumni, and Advancement teams to build meaningful donor relationships and champion philanthropic success across the university.

To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record of major gift fundraising within complex organisations, and a talent for building trusted, high-value relationships. Your strategic mindset, combined with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, will enable you to design and deliver effective campaigns that inspire lasting support. Strong leadership capability, along with experience in driving data-informed decisions, will ensure you thrive in this fast-paced and collaborative environment.
