The Opportunity

Join a leading anatomy education team at one of Australia’s most dynamic biomedical teaching environments. Based within the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology at Monash’s Clayton campus, this role offers the chance to shape how future clinicians and scientists learn human anatomy.

We are seeking an exceptional education-focused academic to contribute to the design, delivery and continuous improvement of anatomy and histology education across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

This opportunity is available at Level B (Lecturer) or Level C (Senior Lecturer), depending on experience. Applicants are required to nominate the level they wish to be considered for in their application.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, coordinating units across biomedical science and medical programs, and contributing to innovative, evidence-based curriculum design. At the senior level, you will also provide leadership in educational innovation, mentoring colleagues and shaping teaching strategy.

About the Role

Across both levels, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across lectures, tutorials, laboratories and clinical anatomy settings 

  • Coordinate units and contribute to curriculum design and renewal 

  • Develop contemporary, student-centred learning experiences across multiple delivery modes 

  • Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning, including publication and conference engagement 

  • Work collaboratively across disciplines and campuses to enhance teaching outcomes 

At Level C, you will additionally:

  • Lead curriculum innovation and drive improvements in teaching practice 

  • Provide mentorship and capability building for academic staff 

  • Contribute to leadership at department, school or faculty level

About You

You are a passionate educator with a strong foundation in anatomical sciences and a commitment to teaching excellence.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • A doctoral qualification and expertise in anatomy and histology teaching  or an equivalent degree (e.g., medical degree)

  • Proven ability to engage, motivate and inspire students in a tertiary environment 

  • Experience in unit coordination and curriculum development 

  • A strong commitment to innovation in teaching and learning 

  • Evidence of scholarship in education such as publications, presentations or equivalent outputs. 

For Level C, you will also bring:

  • A track record of educational leadership and impact 

  • Experience leading curriculum initiatives and mentoring colleagues 

  • A growing national or international reputation in education-focused scholarship
