The Opportunity
The Faculty of Education is seeking two passionate and experienced qualified teachers to join the Professional Practice Consultant team. There are two opportunities available: a Professional Practice Consultant (Early Childhood) role at 0.8 FTE and a Professional Practice Consultant (Primary) role at 1.0 FTE. Both positions are offered as 12-month fixed-term appointments.
The Professional Practice Consultant, Education is responsible for supporting students’ progress in professional practice and their readiness within the teacher education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels prior to, during and post placement.
Reporting to the Professional Practice Manager, you will bring a genuine desire to use your own rich professional practice and knowledge to support the Faculty’s professional experience through an internal focus on student development and an external focus on partner support.
The role is dynamic and would suit someone who is relationship-focused and who can constructively collaborate and communicate with a diverse range of parties in ensuring a quality experience for both students and external partners.
To be successful for this role, you will have:

Relevant qualifications in the field of Early Childhood and/or Primary teaching, with extensive and relevant professional experience

Understanding of relevant professional standards for teaching

Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent use of technology including software packages such as Google Suite
