The Opportunity

Join a world-class team at the Alfred Research Alliance and play a key role in improving health outcomes for people with chronic lung disease. We are seeking a passionate and organised Research Assistant to join the Respiratory Research@Alfred group, supporting NHMRC-funded studies led by Associate Professor Narelle Cox.

Working closely with clinicians, researchers, and patients, you will contribute to the design and delivery of clinical research that directly impacts real-world care. This role is ideally suited to an early career researcher or health sciences graduate with experience in clinical data collection and trial coordination.

This is a unique opportunity to grow your research experience in a high-impact, patient-focused environment, supported by a collaborative team at the cutting edge of respiratory health care.

What you’ll do:

  • Collect and manage clinical trial data (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Deliver trial interventions and assist with patient-facing studies
  • Contribute to ethics submissions, manuscript preparation, and data analysis
  • Assist in systematic reviews and grant development

What you’ll bring:

  • An honours degree or higher in a biomedical, allied health, or clinical research field
  • Experience working in hospital or clinical research environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP)
  • Strong organisational, documentation, and data management skills
