About the Opportunity
We are seeking a resourceful, digitally literate, and culturally attuned Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the Dean of Monash Art, Design and Architecture – a contemporary, collaborative, and values-driven leader.
This is not a typical EA role. While you will manage core responsibilities – complex calendar and travel coordination, supporting high-level meetings and events, and streamlining office operations – you will also contribute in areas that reflect the creative and outward-facing nature of the Faculty and help provide the foundation for the Dean to lead effectively. These include:
- acting as a key liaison with external partners across the creative, cultural, and design industries
- supporting stakeholder and relationship management initiatives and cultivating strong internal networks across the University
- assisting with the Dean’s digital and social media presence, including drafting content and amplifying Faculty activities
- helping shape communications, presentations, and events that reflect the Faculty’s creative identity
This role offers the chance to work closely with an inspiring leader while gaining first-hand exposure to networks and projects at the intersection of academia, culture, and industry. For the right candidate, it can be a springboard to future opportunities.
About You
You are a curious and proactive professional with a strong grounding in administration and executive support, complemented by experience in a creative, cultural, or design-related environment. You might come from a background as a studio manager or communications/operations lead, or arts management, and you are eager to bring that versatility, sharp eye for detail, problem-solving mindset, and emotional intelligence to a university setting.
You will demonstrate:
- outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities in fast-paced contexts
- excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to draft content for diverse audiences and digital platforms
- confidence in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders – from senior university leaders to cultural and industry partners
- the ability to plan, support, and deliver events with confidence and finesse
- initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, with a drive to learn and grow in the role
