We're looking for an organised and analytical safety professional who enjoys problem solving and working with data, systems, reporting and process improvement. This role would suit someone early in their safety career who is looking to broaden their experience across safety assurance, risk management and contractor safety within a large and complex organisation.
This is not a site-based safety advisor role. A large part of your role will involve coordinating activities, maintaining frameworks, preparing reports, analysing information and working with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across the business.
What you'll be doing
- Support safety assurance programs, activities and systems
- Assist in implementation and management of contractor safety management processes and documentation
- Maintain contractor safety, safety risk and critical control management information
- Assist with preparation of reports, presentations and business documentation
- Review documentation and data to identify gaps, errors, trends and improvement opportunities
- Support the development and maintenance of SHEL frameworks, standards and procedures
- Work with stakeholders across the business to help implement safety improvement initiatives
About you
We're open to candidates who are looking to take the next step in their safety career. You don't need extensive leadership experience, but you will bring:
- Experience in safety, health, risk or a related field
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage complex information across simultaneous projects in a dynamic operational environment
- Confidence working with reports, spreadsheets and business systems
- Strong critical and risk-based thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to align information, analysis and recommendations with business objectives
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An interest in risk management, assurance and continuous improvement
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
A qualification in Safety, Health, Risk, Business or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
