Location: Rockhampton
About the role: Join Aurizon's Mechanised Production team and work on some of the largest and most specialised rail maintenance machinery in the country. From ballast cleaners and resurfacing machines to heavy on-track equipment, you'll learn how to maintain the machinery that keeps the Central Queensland Coal Network moving safely and efficiently.
Through a combination of on-the-job training and TAFE study, you'll complete your apprenticeship over a 3–4-year period. We'll provide the training, support and development to help you build valuable trade skills and launch a long term career with Australia's largest rail freight operator.
About you: We're looking for someone who genuinely loves machinery and enjoys understanding how things work. You'll be naturally curious, keen to learn, and willing to get stuck in and have a go. Just as importantly, you'll be a team player who gets along well with others, works safely, and shares Aurizon's values of being curious, courageous, collaborative and trustworthy
- Prepared to work a shift roster every second weekend
- Ideally completed Grade 12
- Be an enthusiastic team player and super interested in learning a trade
- Demonstrate commitment to Aurizon values
- Have a strong commitment to safety
