We'll provide the training and support needed to help you transition into the industry and become skilled in maintaining and operating specialised rail machinery.

About the role:
As a Trade Operator, you'll be part of a highly skilled team responsible for maintaining and operating specialised on-track production machinery that keeps Australia's busiest coal rail network running safely and efficiently.
Your work will include:
- Operating specialised on-track maintenance equipment (training provided)
- Mechanical maintenance, servicing and repair of heavy equipment
- Fault finding and troubleshooting complex machinery
- Working alongside experienced operators, tradespeople and technicians
Lifestyle & Roster:
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable travelling for work.
- Starting Each rostered block in either in Rockhampton or Sarina
- Travel across Central Queensland for maintenance and network shutdown activities
- Annual shift schedule consists of a 208-shift primarily following a pattern of 8 days on and 6 days off. This is complemented by a fixed fortnightly pay structure which is annualised and includes superannuation contributions based on the total fixed remuneration package.
- DIDO arrangements may be suitable for some candidates
- FIFO is not available
About you:
- Certificate III Engineering Mechanical (or equivalent mechanical trade qualification)
- Current driver's licence
- Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
Highly Regarded Backgrounds

- Mining maintenance/Mobile plant maintenance
- Manufacturing and production facilities
- Defence maintenance environments
- Workshop-based maintenance/ Heavy transport and logistics
- Agricultural machinery
- Ports and bulk handling
- Power generation
Rail experience is not required.
