Drive impactful people initiatives that support business performance and growth

At Aurizon, we’re committed to shaping a high-performing, future-ready workforce. We’re seeking a Senior Adviser – People & Development to play a key role in delivering strategic people initiatives that deliver meaningful and measurable business outcomes.

This is a project focused role, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of initiatives, influence leaders, and drive meaningful change across the business. It is not a traditional HR partnering role.

About the role

In this role, you will take accountability for the delivery of key people initiatives as well as support complex enterprise-wide programs. You’ll work across both operational and project-based priorities, translating strategy into practical, sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the design and end-to-end delivery of business unit initiatives and support enterprise-wide people initiatives and transformation programs
  • Deliver strategic projects aligned to priority business objectives across multiple business units
  • Identify business challenges and develop fit-for-purpose people solutions that drive measurable outcomes
  • Apply data and insights to inform project design, decision-making and evaluation of outcomes
  • Lead and coordinate change and transformation programs, ensuring successful implementation and adoption
  • Work across specialist and broader teams to deliver priorities, depending on initiative requirements

About you

You’re a strategic project leader with the ability to take enterprise initiatives from concept to delivery.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience leading medium-scale projects or transformation programs in HR or organisational environments
  • Experience in change management and program delivery
  • The ability to translate business needs into practical, structured solutions and deliverables
  • Analytical skills, with confidence using data to influence decisions and measure outcomes
  • A background in HR, organisational development or related discipline (preferred)
  • Experience working across complex or large-scale organisations (heavy industry experience advantageous)
