As our business continues to evolve, we are seeking an experienced operations leader to join our Western Australian team and lead Aurizon’s Narngulu rail operations.
About the Role
As Regional Operations Manager within Aurizon’s Bulk West team, based in Narngulu (Geraldton, WA), you will lead the safe and efficient day-to-day running of our rail operations. Reporting to the General Manager, you will support frontline leaders, build strong customer relationships, and ensure services are delivered safely, reliably, and efficiently.
You will:
- Lead daily rail operations within the Mid-West network, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of freight.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices are consistently followed across the team.
- Support and develop frontline leaders and employees to achieve strong people, safety, and performance outcomes.
- Work closely with customers to meet service expectations and maintain positive working relationships.
- Monitor operational performance, resources, and costs to support efficient service delivery.
- Identify and implement practical continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Manage operational risks and respond effectively to day-to-day challenges as they arise.
- Contribute to planning and decision-making for the site and broader regional operation.
- Build strong internal and external relationships that support safe, reliable operational outcomes.
About You
You are a capable and practical operations leader with a strong track record of leading safe, reliable, and efficient outcomes. You are confident supporting teams, solving operational challenges, and building positive relationships with customers and stakeholders. Your strength lies in leading people well, improving day-to-day performance, and creating a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
