Operational Maintainer – Narngulu (Qualified - Level 3+)
Narngulu, WA | Internal Expression of Interest (3 Positions available)
The Narngulu depot is seeking qualified Operational Maintainers (Level 3 or above) to join our Narngulu depot as part of our continued growth and internal progression strategy.
These positions have become available as the Narngulu depot actively develops and progresses Locomotive Drivers from within its Operational Maintainer pool.

Rate of pay
- Current Level 3 rate: $47.92 per hour (shift worker)
- Next EA increase (Feb 2027): ~$50.00 per hour
- 10‑hour shifts provide strong daily earnings and lifestyle balance
(All rates in accordance with the EA; OT and penalties apply where relevant.)
About the role
As a qualified Operational Maintainer, you will:
- Work autonomously in a safety‑critical rail environment
- Control yard and train movements in line with operating rules
- Inspect, service and maintain rollingstock and associated equipment
- Conduct brake testing and train preparation
- Communicate effectively with Train Control and depot teams
About you
You will:
- Be a qualified Operational Maintainer – minimum Level 3
- Have demonstrated capability working independently in rail operations
- Hold a C‑Class Driver Licence
- Maintain strong safety focus and operational discipline
- Be willing to work day and night shifts on a 10‑hour roster (80 hour fortnight)
