Aurizon’s Townsville depot is offering an opportunity for a safety-focused and reliable Forklift Operator to join the team, with training and upskilling provided to operate larger equipment over time.

About the role
You’ll start operating forklifts and supporting terminal operations, with the opportunity to progress into larger equipment as you gain experience.
- Operate forklifts to load and unload freight
- Support container and terminal operations across rail and road freight
- Work as part of a team using radios and communication systems
- Conduct pre-start checks and basic equipment care
- Perform general yard and terminal duties
What you need to get started
We’re focused on attitude, reliability, and safety — not just tickets.
- Current High Risk Forklift Licence (LF) – essential
- Strong commitment to safety and following procedures
- Reliable and able to work in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and be trained on new equipment
- Ability to work a rotating roster (days, nights, weekends)
Nice to have (but not required)
- Experience in container or freight operations
- Additional tickets (reach stacker, loader, excavator)
- HC or MC licence
