About the role
Are you someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and being the welcoming face of an organisation? Aurizon is seeking a Business Services Support professional to play a key role in supporting our Rockhampton operations.
Based at our Murray Street administration building and nearby training centre, you’ll provide high‑quality front‑of‑house and business support services, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations and a positive experience for visitors, employees and the wider community.
This is a varied, people‑facing role suited to someone who enjoys being organised, proactive and adaptable in a busy environment.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will be responsible for a broad range of business support activities, including:
- Acting as the first point of contact at reception, welcoming visitors, employees and contractors
- Managing meeting room bookings, calendars and room set‑ups
- Coordinating catering requests, including set‑up and clean‑up
- Handling incoming calls and community enquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Managing shared mailboxes and ensuring timely responses
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail and coordinating courier services
- Monitoring and ordering consumables such as stationery and kitchen supplies
- Supporting facilities activities, including maintenance requests, inspections and locker management
- Printing and issuing ID cards in line with security requirements
- Providing support across both the administration building and training centre
- Assisting with ad‑hoc administrative tasks such as printing, binding and mail‑outs
About you
You’ll bring a professional, customer‑focused approach and the ability to juggle multiple tasks with confidence. Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in reception, customer service, call centre or administrative support roles
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- A proactive, reliable and flexible work style
- Confidence working in high‑traffic environments
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Experience with meeting coordination, email management, mail processing or inventory management (desirable)
- Ability to safely undertake manual handling tasks
