FIFO – Murrin Murrin (Expression of Interest)
About the Role:
As a Storeperson supporting Aurizon’s Murrin Murrin Operations, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement, storage, and control of materials within a remote FIFO mining environment.
Working as part of Aurizon’s operational and logistics team, this role directly supports site operations by ensuring inventory accuracy, timely supply of materials, and strict compliance with safety, fatigue, and dangerous goods requirements. Roles operate on a FIFO roster (typically 8 days on / 6 days off) and require adaptability to 12‑hour shifts in remote conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support freight, terminal, and site logistics operations within a remote mining environment.
- Carry out receipting, picking, packing, kitting, and dispatch of materials, components, and maintenance kits.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport freight safely using forklifts and other site‑approved equipment.
- Operate high‑risk plant and equipment in accordance with Aurizon and site safety procedures.
- Conduct stocktakes, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation, including vendor‑held and site‑critical stock.
- Identify, quarantine, and report non‑conforming, damaged, or incorrectly catalogued inventory.
- Handle dangerous goods and regulated materials in line with legislation and site requirements.
- Complete pre‑start checks, inspections, and basic care of warehouse equipment and tools.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse and laydown environment.
- Perform general site and terminal duties, including basic data entry and system transactions.
- Actively contribute to a strong safety culture, teamwork, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You:
To be successful in a Murrin Murrin FIFO warehouse role, you will demonstrate:
- A strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and compliance in safety‑critical environments.
- Proven experience in warehousing, logistics, freight, or mining/industrial operations.
- Ability to work FIFO rosters and 12‑hour shifts in remote conditions.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in inventory control and documentation.
- A proactive, team‑focused approach with strong communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with warehouse management or inventory systems.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain additional site‑specific competencies and tickets as required.
Licences & Tickets:
- C Class Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
- High Risk Forklift Licence (mandatory)
- Dangerous Goods handling (desirable / willingness to obtain)
- Load Restraint & Chain of Responsibility training (desirable)
- Additional plant or machinery tickets as required by site operations
