About the role: Are you a Payroll Officer working for a small company who is looking to expand your skills with a large employer using SAP? Or are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual excited to learn new skills in the People or Finance space?

Aurizon is seeking one dedicated Payroll Officer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role has been created to support the team during a period of internal movement, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to our dynamic and collaborative work environment. Working with a team of highly skilled payroll professionals, you will be coached and mentored to reach your full potential!

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing effective customer service to Aurizon employees and leaders via electronic ticketing and incoming calls.
• Fast and accurate manual data entry of timesheets, employee reimbursements, travel allowances, and study assistance claims.
• Ensuring compliance with governance procedures and controls for accurate employee records.
• Providing informed advice regarding employee entitlements in response to queries.
• Participating in the ongoing review of payroll processes and procedures.

About you:

• Proficient with technology and quick to learn new systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Approachable and positive personality.
• Experience within a payroll function (preferred).
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail for accurate data entry.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
