About the role: This is a great opportunity to join Aurizon’s Group Accounting Team as a Fixed Asset Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract. • Maintain the integrity of the Group’s fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of transactions, including additions, transfers, depreciation, and disposals.
• Review existing fixed asset master data and coordinate the aggregation of additional information to enhance data quality.
• Provide supporting information to finance business partners as required.
• Prepare and/or review fixed asset data for half-year and year-end reporting.
• Complete and/or review balance sheet reconciliations for fixed asset accounts, ensuring adherence to governance and compliance standards.
• Manage the completion and reporting of rolling fixed asset stock counts.
• Ensure the accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of tax fixed asset data.
• Drive the continual improvement of fixed asset policies, procedures, and automation tools.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and change management communications.

About You:

• Finance-related tertiary qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role within a large corporate environment.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member and build strong relationships.
• High level of analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work to achieve results.
• Ability to provide clear, succinct, and persuasive verbal and written information.
• Ability to challenge processes, outcomes, and priorities, and work collaboratively to achieve consensus results.
• Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP.
