Aurizon is seeking an outstanding and influential people leader to join our team as a Supply Chain Superintendent. This role is pivotal in driving performance and upholding our relentless commitment to safe working practices. About the Role:

In this position, you will have the autonomy to take ownership of the rolling stock maintenance and overhaul supply chains and logistics. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting locomotive and wagon maintenance, as well as complex overhaul programs.
  • Managing key supplier relationships and sourcing optimized supplier solutions.
  • Providing expert advice on supply chain, materials, and logistics while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Championing a safety culture that promotes inclusivity in all operational aspects.
  • Leading and coaching your team to meet customer expectations through a team-driven, customer-focused, and commercial culture.
  • Utilizing conceptual and analytical skills along with key performance indicators to optimize service delivery.

About You:

You are a natural leader with a passion for collaboration within diverse and technical teams. Your leadership style is intuitive, and you are deeply invested in developing your team to ensure their success. Stakeholder engagement and collaboration are central to your approach, and your curiosity and commercial acumen enable you to drive high-performance outcomes.

Technical Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications or demonstrated experience in a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehousing operations (rail industry experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Familiarity with contemporary supply chain and supplier engagement processes.
  • Well-developed safety management skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively engage team members, build and sustain relationships, and provide clear direction and coaching.
  • A high-energy approach with a genuine eagerness to encourage your team to excel.
