About the role:

Are you a financial professional looking to move into the Australian tax environment? Join Aurizon's dynamic team and help drive our success. This role offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time work within our Group Financial Reporting & Tax team. You'll play an integral role in supporting tax compliance and advisory functions, including:

• Preparing income tax returns, GST business activity statements and other statutory reporting obligations including the Fringe Benefits Tax return
• Preparing tax effect accounting calculations and disclosures for statutory reporting purposes
• Assisting with research and preparation of ad-hoc tax advice and partnering with the business
• Assisting with tax controls testing and tax risk management processes
• Continuous improvement of taxation practices, processes and systems

About you: 

• Minimum 2 years tax, accounting or finance experience in professional services and/or a corporate environment
• Tertiary qualification in finance-related discipline (preferred)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel, with excellent attention to detail
• Effective organisation skills and project management skills, with experience achieving set goals within specific timeframes
• Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of interpersonal, written and oral communication and negotiation skills
• Experience contributing to a dynamic work environment that is results orientated
