About the role: Join our highly skilled Gracemere Electrical team as our newest Systems Cable Jointer, ensuring Control, Communications and Signalling Cable Systems remain safe and continue to operate within safety and operational performance standards.

Working a 4 day week roster your main responsibilities include-

  • To conduct routine and corrective maintenance and also fault repair in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • To record all maintenance and fault repair activities as conducted.
  • To deliver tasks in a safe manner and ensure equipment continues operation in a safe and effective manner.
  • To identify cable systems condition and report any issues deemed to be of concern.
  • To participate actively with stakeholders to further develop maintenance and repair methods to deliver control, communications and signalling cable systems operation where any failures have minimal impact on train operations.

About you: 

  • Power Cable Jointers licence or an Electrical Licence.
  • Certificate III in Telecommunications (Cabling)
  • ACA Base Cabling Licence with Structured, underground, optical fibre endorsements
  • Experience in testing and splicing optical fibres
  • Experience in testing and jointing underground electrical and instrumentation cable
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • Sound level of both written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work on a call out rotation
  • Able to work away from home depot when required
