What does the job look like?
As the State Transport Manager you will be responsible for leading a complex transport and warehousing operation, ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of contracted outcomes for multiple customers. You will oversee the allocation of resources including labour, fleet and facilities, while acting as the key point of communication between Linfox, customers, unions and site teams.

With a strong focus on safety, compliance and customer engagement, you will drive performance through reporting, financial management and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring service expectations and operational targets are consistently achieved. Key areas:

  • Lead delivery of transport and warehouse operations to meet contracted service outcomes and DIFOTA targets
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies and legislative requirements across the operation
  • Manage resources including labour, equipment and facilities for efficient and cost-effective operations
  • Deliver financial performance through budgeting, reporting, and cost control initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to achieve service and performance outcomes
  • Develop and lead team capability, including workforce planning and succession development

Are you the one?
You are an experienced leader with a strong background in the transport industry, with a proven track record managing operations, customer contracts and team performance. You bring a hands-on leadership approach with a focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

You can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within Transport and Logistics (min 5+ years exp)
  • Proven ability to manage large customer accounts and service agreements
  • Experience managing P&L performance, budgets and operational reporting
  • Strong knowledge of safety, compliance and regulatory requirements (including NHVR)
  • Experience leading teams and developing capability across operations and administration functions
  • Exposure to unionised environments and industrial relations management
