What does the job look like?

Looking for a role where you’re not just planning the work, but actively running it? This could be the step up you’ve been chasing.

We’re seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to join our Bulk Fuel team in Laverton, supporting a national operation that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a fast-moving, real-time environment. You’ll be at the centre of it.

From the moment your shift starts, you’re making decisions. You’ll monitor live operations, respond to changing conditions, and keep freight moving safely and on time. Delays happen. Plans change. The key is how you react. Your focus will be on:

• Monitoring shift activity and intervening to recover delays or disruptions
  
• Managing driver workforce performance, communication, and allocation
  
• Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility, fatigue, and DG requirements
  
• Optimising equipment and resources to reduce downtime and inefficiencies
  
• Building strong relationships with drivers, customers, and internal teams
  
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across dispatch operations

Roster & work environment – what you need to know

Because this is a 24/7 Bulk Fuel operation, this role operates on a 12-hour rotating roster across day and night shifts.

• You will work 7 shifts per fortnight
  
• Shifts rotate between days and nights
  
• The roster requires regular rotation between day and night work (typically monthly)

This structure allows for strong coverage across the national operation. However, it also means this role will suit someone who is:

• Comfortable working longer shifts
  
• Able to adapt to changing sleep patterns
  
• Resilient in a high-demand, always-on operational environment

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who can think clearly under pressure and make sound decisions in real time. 

You might already have experience in transport or logistics. But you might not. Some of our strongest hires have come from IT, computing, or systems-based roles, where managing multiple workflows, solving problems quickly, and working with live data is part of daily work. 

What matters most is your mindset. You will bring:

• Experience in operations, scheduling, dispatch, or fast-paced environments
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise in real time
  
• A safety-first approach and willingness to learn CoR, fatigue, and DG requirements
  
• Confidence communicating with drivers and stakeholders
  
• Strong computer skills and comfort working across multiple systems
  
• Experience with transport systems (e.g., Ortec or WinDMS) is helpful, but not essential.
