About the Role

Based at our Auburn site, this Assistant Accountant role plays a critical part in delivering accurate financial outcomes and supporting continuous improvement across finance systems and processes.

Collaborating closely with stakeholders across Operations and Commercial teams, you’ll provide timely financial insights, ensure strong financial governance, and help drive data‑led decision making in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional looking to deepen their technical capability while gaining exposure to operational and commercial finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue weekly customer invoices, including supporting documentation.
  • Manage Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) processes, including purchase orders and supplier invoice processing.
  • Perform weekly and monthly supplier account reconciliations.
  • Assist with journal preparation and month‑end and year‑end close activities.
  • Support capital project tracking and asset capitalisation.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date finance process documentation.

About You

You’re a detail‑oriented and initiative-taking finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, operationally focused environment. You take ownership of your work, communicate confidently with stakeholders, and are always looking for ways to improve processes.

You’ll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualification or currently working toward certification.
  • Experience using large ERP systems (SAP highly regarded).
  • Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables); Power BI experience advantageous.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
