What does the job look like?

As a Warehouse Optimisation Analyst within our Analytics and Design Services (ADS) team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing warehouse efficiency, reducing operational costs, and improving productivity across the Linfox network. Using your analytical capability, operational insight, and understanding of warehouse technologies, you will help design smarter, safer, and more efficient warehouse operations.

Reporting to the Warehouse Solutions & Automation Manager, you will work across multiple business units to assess current performance, optimise warehouse layouts, streamline processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to improved customer outcomes, technology enablement, and a stronger operational footprint for Linfox.

This role is onsite based out of our HQ in Essendon Fields (VIC)

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyse current warehouse processes to identify inefficiencies and develop streamlined workflows that improve operational performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend warehouse layout changes to maximise space utilisation and enhance the flow of goods.
  • Support the configuration and implementation of new warehouse technologies and solutions.
  • Assist in the development and governance of inventory management policies and audit processes.
  • Identify cost‑reduction opportunities through data‑driven insights and operational modelling.
  • Conduct process mapping (As‑Is/To‑Be), productivity assessments, and resource modelling.
  • Perform data analysis and forecasting, leveraging predictive analytics where relevant.
  • Produce clear, practical recommendations to guide operational decision‑making.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders — commercial, operational, ADIT, project teams — and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and actively contribute to an injury‑free workplace under Linfox’s Vision Zero approach.

You are a solutions‑focused analyst with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a passion for process improvement. You combine analytical rigour with practical operational insight and can translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate:

  • Hands‑on experience in a warehouse operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of logistics workflows, inventory control, and materials movement.
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related technologies.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools to identify trends and performance gaps.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong time‑management capability.
  • Experience with process mapping, continuous improvement methodologies, or optimisation techniques.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
