What does the job look like?

As the Customer Service Officer, you will be at the heart of daily transport operations — the go to person customers and drivers depend on for timely updates and clear communication. One moment you may be tracking a time critical delivery in SAP, and the next, liaising with internal teams to resolve a freight discrepancy before it impacts a customer. No two days look the same, and that’s what makes this role exciting.

You’ll support transport administration, monitor fleet activity, and handle enquiries with confidence and accuracy. Most importantly, you’ll be representing the Linfox brand with every interaction — always demonstrating patience, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to excellent service.

Key areas include:

Customer & Supplier Support

  • Respond to inbound customer and supplier enquiries with accurate, timely freight updates.
  • Track deliveries, manage booking details, and provide clear solutions when issues arise.
  • Build strong working relationships by delivering consistent, reliable communication.

Transport Coordination & Administration

  • Monitor fleet activities and assist with transport scheduling or dispatch tasks when required.
  • Review transport documents to ensure accuracy and compliance, escalating discrepancies promptly.
  • Enter data into SAP, Excel, and other Linfox systems, maintaining absolute accuracy.

Internal Collaboration & Feedback Loops

  • Work closely with drivers, supervisors, and site teams to keep operations flowing smoothly.
  • Raise customer feedback, delays, or risks early so the right teams can respond quickly.
  • Support reporting and updates to keep our operations transparent and well informed.

Are you the one?

You’re approachable, steady under pressure, and known for your ability to turn complex situations into calm, clear action. Maybe you’ve worked in transport before, or perhaps you’ve spent time in a customer facing administrative role where attention to detail and multitasking were essential. Either way, you bring energy, resilience, and a genuine respect for customers, drivers, and teammates. You’ll bring:

  • Experience in customer service and/or admin (transport exposure is a bonus but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills and a solutions focused mindset.
  • High accuracy in data entry, reporting, and document checking.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new systems (SAP experience helpful, but training provided).
  • A steady, composed approach when juggling competing tasks or tight timelines.
