About the role

As our next Occupational Rehabilitation and Compensation Principal, you will have a demonstrated ability to develop the strategy and guide the business in relation to management of workers compensation and common law claims, income protection, fitness for work and medical conditions.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and improve the implementation of the process, procedure, direction and advice to optimise the end to end Occupational Rehabilitation and Compensation function.
  • Lead, support and mentor your team to deliver an efficient and effective service to the business.
  • Provide expert advice and support to the Global Business Streams and Projects to facilitate early intervention, occupational rehabilitation and return to work processes.
  • Lead and support the Projects to investigate workers compensation and common law claims
  • Work in conjunction with treating doctors, allied health providers and insurers to facilitate injury management and return to work
  • Interpret and apply medical advice to implement strategies to promote successful return to work outcomes and ensuring employees are fit for work
  • Maintain accurate claims and health records
  • Provide training and education to business streams and projects to improve best practice claims and injury management processes and management of fitness for work matters.

About you

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Ideally a degree qualification, preferably in Allied Health, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or related area
  • Registered health practitioner with AHPRA
  • Significant experience in a comparable role
  • Injury management experience with an insurer or rehabilitation provider or employer
  • Fitness for work / non work-related injury experience with an employer
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the state workers compensation legislation and scheme
  • Expert in the development and implementation of injury management and rehabilitation programs
  • Have led a team with a hands-on approach to coaching and mentoring
  • Be a strong influencer with excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise in a dynamic and results oriented environment
