The Opportunity

Join one of Western Australia's premier gold mining operations and play a key leadership role in delivering safe, productive, and efficient load and haul outcomes at the Gruyere Gold Mine.
 
We are seeking an experienced Mining Supervisor to lead and coordinate day-to-day open pit mining activities, with a strong focus on load and haul operations. Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you will provide frontline leadership to operators and contractors, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and team performance. 

About the role

As a Mining Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing mining activities across a large-scale open pit operation, driving operational excellence and fostering a positive team culture.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Supervising and coordinating daily load and haul activities to achieve production and productivity targets.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of operators, fostering safe work practices and operational discipline.
  • Monitoring fleet performance and operational efficiencies, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with site safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinating with Mine Planning, Drill & Blast, Maintenance, and Technical Services teams to optimise mining activities.
  • Managing shift handovers, workforce allocation, and operational reporting.
  • Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous experience in a Mining Supervisor or similar leadership role within an open pit mining environment.
  • Strong operational knowledge of load and haul production activities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large mining crews and developing high-performing teams.
  • Sound understanding of mine planning principles and fleet optimisation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Current WA Statutory Supervisor qualification.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • A proven commitment to safety leadership and operational excellence.
