The Opportunity
Are you a proactive and results-driven maintenance professional with a passion for equipment reliability and continuous improvement ? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Coordinator Service Rebuild to join our high-performing team at Batam Rebuild Centre.
As a key member of the Batam Rebuild Centre team, you'll be responsible for Lead the planning, costing, and execution support of machine rebuild projects by developing scopes of work, preparing parts lists and quotations, and coordinating with supply chain, quality, and production teams to ensure successful project delivery. Act as the technical focal point for parts reuse and salvage strategies, conducting repair-versus-replace analyses and managing variation quotations and customer approvals throughout the rebuild process.

As the [Position Title], you will:
- Develop comprehensive machines or component rebuild scope of work.
- Lead in generating machine Base Part List (BPL) based on OEM database or other resources.
- Prepare machine rebuild pricing and quoting for any tender submission.
- Prepare machine rebuild cost review and actively in drive meeting purposes/solutions.
- Assist with supply chain team to ensure build parts order are well-prepared prior rebuild project commencement.
- Assist with QA/QC team to ensure machine rebuild quality as planned (agreed with client).
- Coordinate with production scheduler team to ensure rebuild man hours as planned (agreed with client).
- Become primary contact to be consulted for parts reuse and salvage program.
- Perform parts repair versus replace analysis.
- Prepare and present variation quotations to client as required.
- Follow up and receive customer approval for any variation quotation.
- Able to have a quick response to machine rebuild estimating request.
- Have a good understanding of machine upgrades or OEM service magazine.
- Have a broad understanding in mechanical applications and technology.
- Have good attention to detail.
About you
- Minimum: Hold Certificate III Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitter) or Certificate III Automotive Electrical Technology/ Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/ Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering.
- Has experience with heavy equipment production, maintenance, or engineering minimum 8 years.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Excel.
- Having experience in heavy equipment dealership or mining maintenance contractors will be highly regarded.
- Familiar with any Enterprise Resource System, for example: JDE or SAP but not essential.
- Has good skill in producing calculating template or spreadsheet.
- Having in depth knowledge of Caterpillar SIS.
