What you’ll do

Thiess is seeking an ICT Service Delivery Engineer to deliver high-quality ICT support services across our regional operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring systems, networks and end-user technologies are reliable, secure and fit for purpose, enabling our sites and projects to operate effectively.

Based in Mackay, you will provide both onsite and remote support, working closely with business stakeholders, ICT teams and service providers to resolve incidents, deliver improvements and support technology initiatives across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and high-quality support for ICT incidents and service requests logged via the Thiess Helpdesk
  • Support the availability, performance and reliability of systems, networks and end-user technologies
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues across a complex, distributed environment
  • Install, configure and maintain ICT hardware, software and peripherals
  • Administer user accounts and devices within enterprise environments (e.g. Active Directory, Intune)
  • Monitor systems to identify potential issues and forecast future requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation, processes and system records to support SLA compliance
  • Provide technical advice to internal stakeholders regarding ICT solutions, hardware and software
  • Support change, project and continuous improvement initiatives using ITIL-based practices
  • Build strong relationships with site personnel, vendors and key ICT stakeholders

What you’ll bring

You are a proactive and customer-focused ICT professional who is comfortable working independently in a regional environment and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience providing onsite and remote ICT support within a complex or distributed environment
  • Strong experience supporting Windows-based environments, PC hardware, peripherals and networks
  • Working knowledge of enterprise ICT technologies, including:
    • Active Directory, Group Policy
    • Virtualisation (e.g. VMware)
    • Cloud platforms (e.g. Azure)
    • Mobile device management 
    • Microsoft 365
  • Experience using incident management tools and working to SLAs
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices (desirable)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise competing demands
