About the role

The Specialist Asset Planning role is responsible for providing scalable offshore planning support to the Long-Term and Short-Term Planning teams across multiple regions. The role delivers back-end planning services and acts as a central planning hub for smaller sites, ensuring alignment with whole-of-life asset strategies and business requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with onshore planning teams to provide proactive, high-quality planning support
  • Understand the Thiess Long Term Planning process and provide long term planning services to sites where required
  • Understand the Thiess Short Term Planning process and provide short term planning services to sites where required
  • Help facilitate LTP event reviews, compiling relevant information to populate standardized templates
  • Assist in development of bills of materials for component replacement aligned to Thiess standards
  • Assist in management of offsite repairs for planned events
  • Ensure the JDE maintenance system is utilised effectively on all sites to ensure consistency across the business and accuracy of maintenance records
  • Ensure effective plans are submitted for approval and components are managed in line with business expectations.

About you

  • Trade qualification / Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience in maintenance operations with large mining equipment
  • Experience in scheduling and planning maintenance activities for large mining equipment
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Competent in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. JDE)
  • Knowledge of contract management, including subcontractors
