About The Role

Are you a training professional with a sharp eye for detail and a strong commitment to safety and compliance? Thiess is seeking a Training Coordinator to join our dynamic team at our Peak Downs project in Moranbah.

As our next Training Coordinator, reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you will work closely with a high-performing team to coordinate all functional training activities on site. This includes the maintenance of accurate training records, compliance documentation, and reporting.

Working a 5/2 - 4/3 roster, your key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Assist with the management of site gate competency compliance
  • Manage course bookings, onsite training and inductions
  • Liaise with a team of Training Specialists and Crew Trainers across the site
  • Manage the site data, to ensure compliance with the Learning Management System
  • Create and maintain site training plans
  • Maintain the site Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify gaps between current skill, competency levels and required skill levels, in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Develop, implement and maintain site training plans, with a focus on proficiency-based training outcomes and ‘new to industry’ engagement
  • Organise training activities to ensure adherence with legislative and Thiess requirements
  • Coordination of Emergency Response Team training

About You

To be successful in this role you will require the following:

  • Experience in managing a complex Training Needs Analysis
  • Strong administrative skills and experience using online training systems
  • Certificate IV Trainer Assessor
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Ability to map training packages to recognised competencies (particularly RII packages)
  • Experience with heavy earthmoving equipment (Dump truck, Watercart, Grader, Dozer, Loader & Excavator) and/or a Mining Maintenance background would be highly regarded
