The Opportunity

As Rehabilitation Principal, you will be involved in all aspects of post mining transformation and mine rehabilitation planning and execution from tendering through to operations and supporting innovative delivery of best-in-class solutions. 

The role will be responsible for pre contracts and tendering work across Thiess Rehabilitation in Australia, and will play a key strategic role business development, industry engagement and relationship building with key up and downstream partners.

These responsibilities will include:

  • Provide functional direction strategic business opportunities and partnerships that the Thiess Rehabilitation will pursue, including management of the new work planning pipeline
  • Steer multi-disciplinary tender teams as the bid manager to ensure tenders are complete, deliver value, key risks and costs are coordinated appropriately and developed on time
  • Lead and coordinate the Thiess Group Companies community of practice in relation to post mining transformation capabilities and collective service offering
  • Take a lead role within the team in working towards financial goals, including project scheduling and forecasting as required
  • Assist Australian operations with rehabilitation requirements and provide technical and systems support to regions as required to implement Mine Rehabilitation
  • Provide specialist rehabilitation advice (operational and technical) and review final landform designs of projects completing rehabilitation where required
  • Provide technical advice to rehabilitation projects to ensure requirements are understood to meet clients' and legislative requirements. Prepare cost estimates appropriate for the proposed scope of works

About You

We seek an individual with significant senior experience within the rehabilitation sector, preferably within open cut mining.

You will have completed a tertiary degree Environmental/Civil/Mining or Management/Science/Engineering or equivalent and/or have gained extensive relevant experience.

Your commercial acumen and strengths in in mine rehabilitation design, scheduling, equipment use, costings and land use outcomes.
