About the role
Thiess is currently seeking a Field Maintenance Supervisor to join the Curragh North project, located 30kms from Blackwater in Central QLD.
As our next Field Maintenance Supervisor, you will be accountable for the maintenance and execution of the plan for all excavators and heavy equipment at our Curragh North project ensuring the equipment fleet achieves maximum availability for optimal cost. You will provide leadership and direction to all field maintenance personnel, including sub-contractors. Your success will be measured by your ability to maintain fleet availability and develop the skills of your crew.
Working on a 7/7 even lifestyle roster 12-hour dayshift, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent you will be part of a team that is committed to developing our people.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Lead, coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance and mentoring others
- Manage and execute daily maintenance of a large mobile maintenance fleets
- Provide practical input into all relevant short and long-term maintenance plans
- Increase equipment availability and reliability by ensuring all maintenance activities are planned and carried out to a high standard, in a safe and timely manner
- Assist the Superintendent in implementing safety and productivity strategies
- Play an active role in all incident investigations under your control
- Create solutions combined with self-motivation to focus on developing solutions and plans to challenge presented in the workplace.
About You
- A mechanical trade certificate or tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering
- Extensive post trade or relevant mobile maintenance experience in a mining environment
- Previous leadership experience
- A strong commitment to health, safety, environment and the community
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and condition monitoring
- The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
