What you’ll do
As a key figure in maintenance leadership for the regions, you will align maintenance objectives with production targets while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Safety Management Plans, ensuring compliance with legislative, corporate, and client requirements.
- Ensure high safety standards and risk mitigation across all maintenance activities, driving a strong safety culture.
- Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Oversee the implementation of weekly maintenance plans, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and production goals.
- Manage inventory, subcontractor performance, and critical component availability in collaboration with the Delivery Manager.
- Monitor and analyse maintenance KPIs to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effective operations.
- Foster a strong leadership environment by coaching, mentoring, and empowering Client Maintenance Supervisors and subcontractors.
- Conduct performance management, training, recruitment, and development activities to build a high-performing team.
- Support diagnostic activities, manage warranty claims, and ensure cost-effective maintenance practices are followed.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Planners to align freight and logistics with maintenance and asset management strategies.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a Trade Certificate or Engineering Degree (or equivalent) coupled with proven experience in mobile mining plant maintenance within the open-cut mining industry. A demonstrated ability to lead site-based maintenance teams, manage client relationships under pressure, and deliver excellence in maintenance planning and execution is essential. Additionally, strong technical and interpersonal skills are required to drive success in this role.
Key Attributes:
- Trade Certificate or Engineering Degree (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in mobile mining plant maintenance within the open-cut mining industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., JDE).
- Effective financial management skills, including cost and budget oversight.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop high-performing teams.
