We are seeking a Travel and Accommodation Supervisor to lead our Brisbane logistics team and ensure seamless coordination of logistics for site-based crews. In this vital role, you will oversee flights, accommodation, and bus movements across multiple operational sites, ensuring smooth crew transitions, particularly during high-risk changeover periods.
With strong autonomy and oversight of a small support team, you’ll act as the first escalation point for disruptions, troubleshoot issues in real time, and provide top-tier service to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Coordination
- Supervise and guide a team of 3 Travel Officers, providing direction, training, and support.
- Actively monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Logistics Operations
- Manage end-to-end crew travel arrangements: flight manifests, camp allocations, and bus rosters.
- Proactively resolve travel disruptions, booking conflicts, or delays.
- Act as the primary escalation point, ensuring smooth execution during critical changeover periods.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and foster relationships with internal teams (HR, Finance, and site leaders) and external service providers.
- Maintain clear, timely communication on crew logistics and handle queries effectively.
Operational Efficiency
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), tools, and flowcharts for efficient workflows.
- Identify areas for process improvement, including sustainable logistics solutions and tech integration.
Financial Responsibility
- Support cost-effective travel and accommodation decisions, escalating where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of logistics costs for proper attribution.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We are looking for a motivated, skilled professional who thrives in team leadership and logistics coordination. With excellent communication skills, a calm approach under pressure, and proficiency in essential systems and tools, you’ll ensure smooth and efficient operations. Your ability to build trust, share knowledge, and understand the commercial impact of your decisions will set you up for success in this role.
Education & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Business, Logistics, or Project Management (desirable).
- At least 3 years of experience in logistics, site services, or coordination, ideally in FIFO or mining environments.
- Proven experience in supervising or mentoring small teams.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Confident communicator across diverse teams and external vendors.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to stay calm under pressure.
- Proficient in systems and tools (e.g. Excel, Outlook, roster planners, booking platforms).
- Team-oriented with a strong ability to build trust and share knowledge.
- Solid understanding of the commercial impact of decisions and operational priorities.
