About the Role

You will play a central role in developing and managing high-quality pricing submissions and tender proposals across North American operations. Drawing on your mining expertise, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compelling, value-driven proposals and play an active part in contract negotiations, project delivery model design, and stakeholder engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to apply their technical mining knowledge in a commercial and strategic context – all while living and working in the United States.

Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship will be provided for the right candidate, under a Local Plus assignment agreement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of value propositions, project models and partner selection strategies
  • Analyse mining operations to determine key value drivers for Thiess and clients
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet proposal and tender deadlines
  • Lead the development of pricing submissions, project delivery plans and risk assessments
  • Work closely with estimating and mine planning teams to optimise mine plans
  • Ensure alignment with client requirements and expectations
  • Manage client platforms and Salesforce processes for tender approvals
  • Contribute to contract negotiations and manage feedback processes
  • Foster a strong safety-first culture across all activities

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 6 years’ experience in mining/heavy civil operations, with exposure across planning, estimating and execution
  • Proven experience in project and proposal development in North America or comparable mining markets
  • Sound understanding of open-pit mining methods, fleet management, and reclamation
  • Strong knowledge of operational safety, quality and environmental systems
  • Project management capabilities to deliver on-time, high-quality submissions
  • Commercial acumen and basic finance/accounting skills
  • Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills
  • Experience using Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms
  • Advanced MS Office 365 proficiency
  • Engineering degree (mining or related) preferred, or demonstrated equivalent experience

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to relocate to the United States (Salt Lake City, Utah)
  • Valid passport and ability to meet US immigration requirements
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Full-time, in-office role (Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm)
  • Must be fluent in English
