About the role
We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Thiess Western Region Maintenance hub located in Hazelmere, working an 8/6 roster, day shift only. The Maintenance Hub is designed to support repairs and refurbish a variety of Mining Equipment and Components within Thiess and subsidiary internal Asset refurbishment requirements as well as external key Tier 1 mining customers.
With a strong pipeline of machine refurbishments including major component changes on a fleet of CAT 793F's, the Maintenance Supervisor will play a pivotal role in leading our workshop crew to ensure effective maintenance activities. This role involves coordinating workshop operations, prioritising safety, and meeting production and cost targets. You will oversee a team of various trades, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
This position also offers potential to grow your career into any aspect of maintenance and asset management within the Thiess group.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and mentoring others
- Manage and execute maintenance work using efficient equipment servicing strategies to achieve targeted service times and schedule compliance rates
- Ensure that work is completed within allowed budget and resources
- Develop and strengthen key internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained and repaired in accordance with OEM specifications, company policy and the Project
About you
- Mechanical Trade Certificate or tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Extensive post trade or relevant mobile maintenance experience in a mining environment or component rebuild workshop
- Previous leadership/ supervision experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Exposure of maintenance planning and condition monitoring
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
