That is why Thiess is striving to identify and support the next generation of talented professionals by offering scholarships to undergraduate students studying in Australia.
Selected candidates will receive an instalment of $4,000 at completion of each semester, to a total of $8,000 per annum. In addition, you will have the opportunity to build rapport and create relationships within the industry, receive a placement for our vacation program and be exposed to a range of mining projects. Successful completion of the vacation program also provides you with the opportunity to be considered for a permanent role with Thiess as part of our Graduate Program.
These scholarships are open to all students who are undertaking their 2nd or 3rd year of study of single Bachelor's degree. Candidates may apply for multiple scholarships where eligible; however, if successful, only one scholarship will be awarded.
Thiess have four Scholarships on offer as follows:
- Women in Engineering - This scholarship is open to Women completing an undergraduate degree in one of the following disciplines:
o Mining, mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical or mechatronics
- Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander - This scholarship is open to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander individuals completing undergraduate degree in the following disciplines:
o Engineering (mining, mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical or mechatronics)
o Surveying
o Geology
o Health and safety
o Accounting
o HR
o Legal
o Data Science
- Surveying – This scholarship is open to undergraduate students completing a Bachelors degree in surveying.
- Mine Engineering - This scholarship is open to undergraduate students completing a Bachelors degree in one of the following disciplines:
o Mining, mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical or mechatronics
