About the role
Thiess currently have permanent opportunity for a Blast Hole Driller to join our team at our Lake Vermont Mine site, 19km north of Dysart in the Bowen Basin. You will be highly motivated and work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.
Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor and working a 7/7 roster you will:
- Work in accordance with site’s procedures
- Accurately check the quality and depth of drill holes and record ground conditions that may affect blasting;
- Maintain a clean and tidy Drill rig and report/address any maintenance faults;
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards regular and reliable drill metres, rig utilisation and consumables usage;
- Provide neat and complete associated documentation for drill reports and pre-starts checks;
- Regularly use and active participation in safety assessments; and
- Be willing to be trained across a variety of drill rigs in the fleet and show an adaptable attitude.
About you
- Minimum 12 months drilling experience in the mining industry
- Experience with rotary or top hammer drills
- Relevant qualification to undertake the role of a driller
- S11 or willing to obtain
