About the role

Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for optimising payroll systems and driving transformative change? We're seeking a dynamic Senior Business Analyst - Payroll to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring payroll compliance, spearheading system improvements, and translating complex legislative and business requirements into actionable solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting payroll transformation projects, enhancing business processes, and maintaining the integrity of our payroll systems. If you thrive on challenges and have a knack for turning intricate payroll needs into streamlined configurations, this opportunity is tailor-made for you.

Additionally, you will:

  • Collaborate with Industrial Relations and IT teams to gather and analyse business requirements for payroll processes and systems configuration, acting as the main liaison.

  • Work closely with technology teams and outsource providers to ensure alignment between technical and functional specifications and business objectives, including leading stakeholder workshops.

  • Document and manage change requests, develop test scenarios, conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and maintain the pipeline of systems updates.

  • Develop business process maps, including as-is and to-be analysis, to support continuous improvement in payroll systems and processes.

  • Assist with system troubleshooting, core payroll data updates, and ad hoc payroll report design to meet business reporting needs and ensure smooth payroll operations.

About you

You are experienced in HRIS and Payroll systems configuration, particularly Oracle HCM and Preceda Payroll. Your strong background in Payroll Business Analysis has equipped you with the skills to seamlessly bridge the gap between business needs and IT initiatives. You excel at collaborating with Solution Architects, ensuring that technical specifications align perfectly with business goals and stakeholder expectations. Your experience with IT projects related to HRIS or Payroll systems upgrades sets you apart, giving you a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in payroll transformation. Your ability to translate complex legislative and business requirements into actionable system configurations makes you an invaluable asset in driving continuous improvements across payroll systems and processes.

Additionally, you have:

  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting Legislation, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements, and translating them into technical specifications for Oracle HCM and Preceda systems configuration.

  • Excellent business process and data mapping abilities, coupled with the capacity to develop comprehensive business specifications and documents.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff, as well as engage, negotiate, and collaborate with various stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to work independently, proactively identify improvements, and develop solutions.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate/advanced level), excellent time management and prioritisation abilities, with experience in Jira considered advantageous.

Please note that this role will be a full-time permanent position and applications for this role will close on Wednesday 25 September 2024.
