The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Autonomous Maintenance Technician/Specialist to carry out repairs and maintenance on Autonomous Haulage and Fleet Management systems at Pembroke Resource’s new project in the Bowen Basin - Olive Downs Complex. 

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres South-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid 2023. Thiess has recently been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management, and rehabilitation as well as the construction of the mine infrastructure.

About The Role

Working a 7/7 dayshift/Nightshift roster and reporting to Superintendent Assets Autonomy, your duties will include:

  • Safely conducting maintenance activities on all mobile equipment fitted with Autonomous, Fleet Management and Tyre Sense systems
  • Carrying out a variety of autonomous technology installations, site repairs, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and data collection
  • Collaborate and communicate with site and project teams and key internal and external stakeholders regarding the project’s targets in areas of safety, environment, and production
  • Carry out statutory inspections and calibrations

  • Experience in the deployment and field validation of complex technology-based products in a Mining environment
  • Previous experience with Caterpillar MineStar Command and/or Komatsu FrontRunner systems is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Autonomous operations highly regarded
  • Understanding of network communications and data collection
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Relevant trade certificate in Automotive electrical or Diesel fitting
  • Valid C Class Driving License
  • Cat 793F and Cat 794AC experience highly regarded
  • Experience with Cat MD6310 desirable
