The Opportunity

We are seeking Yard Hands to join the maintenance crew at Pembroke Resource’s new autonomous mine in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex. 

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres South-East of Moranbah, which commenced mining operations mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul, water management and rehabilitation as well as the construction of the mine infrastructure.

As a Yard Hand, your key responsibilities will be:

• Forklift operation for loading and unloading trucks (freight).
• Escorting LV vehicles to and from the front gate.
• Performing general housekeeping duties such as brooming and shovelling.
• Manual handling tasks including stacking pallets and carrying boxes.
• Packing items away in the warehouse as needed.
• Maintain the Maintenance Tool Store (issue out / book in tooling etc) 

About you 

• Valid forklift license and experience in forklift operation.
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Ability to handle manual tasks and lift heavy items.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the mining or industrial sector.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures.
