About The Role 

As a Finance Principal, you will collaborate with the CFO Group on special projects including M&A activities, bank and investor presentations, external ratings analysis, and more. Your role will involve providing strategic insight, analytical thought, and building transaction models to support M&A transactions and other critical projects.

In this role, you will also:

  • Conceptually understand Thiess' strategic positioning and how acquisitions, divestments, and investments can support our growth.
  • Analyse data and third-party research reports to evaluate their impact on the Group's strategic position.
  • Develop and review financial models for investments, divestments, or acquisitions.
  • Participate in due diligence, transaction structures, and negotiation of transaction documents.
  • Prepare and participate in the delivery of Board papers and external facing Investor Relations presentations.

About You  

Our ideal candidate holds a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with a preference for those who are Chartered Accountants, CFAs, or possess similar qualifications. They bring significant expertise from roles within Corporate M&A teams, investment banks, or transactional accounting firms, demonstrating a deep understanding of finance concepts, especially in mergers and acquisitions, debt capital markets, and equity markets.

Exposure to Investor Relations within a listed or major corporation is seen as advantageous. Moreover, they should possess exceptional interpersonal skills, facilitating effective communication across various organisational levels, coupled with a meticulous attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset. Proficiency in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word further complements their skill set.
